Award-Winning Books

Every year in January, the American Library Association awards medals to the best books for children. This week in storytime, we're reading some of the winning books, and some winners of other awards.

Two of our favorite winners this year are:
2009 Caldecott Medal for best illustrated picture book: The House in the Night by Susan Marie Swanson and Beth Krommes
2009 Geisel Award for best beginning reader: Are You Ready to Play Outside? by Mo Willems
